Great Oaks is a friendly and welcoming care home, where our residents come first.
Our team are experts in their field and specialists in each area of elderly care. From long term or dementia care through to a shorter-term respite stay, we offer tailored care delivered by dedicated healthcare professionals. Our caring team are carefully recruited by us for their experience and their compassionate nature.
It is important to us that we develop positive relationships with the people in our care. Our caring team provide invaluable friendship and companionship and we ensure we really listen to each individual’s needs, creating a family-like atmosphere.
At Great Oaks we have a calm and comfortable environment with modern features to ensure residents’ safety, and daily activities to enrich their physical and social lives. We regularly assess the physical and mental wellbeing of our residents and adjust their care plans accordingly.
Open and transparent communication with residents and their families is key to building successful, happy relationships and we encourage families to take a big part in the care planning and lives of our residents. We have an open-door policy and friends and family are always welcome.

Enjoying every day
Our activities team encourage our care home residents to be social and to continue with hobbies they love and enjoy. They also make every effort to introduce our residents to new experiences or activities.
There is always something going on at Great Oaks and activities are arranged on a daily basis. From external entertainers and fitness sessions through to visits from local school children, we ensure that there is something for everyone to look forward to every day.
We know one size doesn’t fit all and while some residents enjoy reading, doing puzzles and quieter activities, others enjoy the home’s beautiful garden and getting out and about with trips out to Bournemouth and the surrounding area.

Delicious healthy food is an extremely important part of our residents’ day and a key priority in the care we provide at Great Oaks.
Our extensive menu of freshly prepared, nutritious dishes is carefully tailored to individual tastes, dietary needs, and nutritional requirements, ensuring our meals have a positive impact on their health too.
Residents can choose from balanced, flavourful meals, including vitamin-enriched options, allergen-free selections, diabetic-friendly dishes, and texture-modified meals for those with swallowing difficulties.
Meals can be enjoyed in our welcoming café, communal dining areas or privately in residents rooms. Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.

A modern and purpose-built environment
The utmost care and attention has been spent on each detail to make Great Oaks feel welcoming and a home-from-home for our residents.
The bedrooms are generously sized to provide residents with an airy, spacious and bright place to relax, and every bedroom features a private ensuite wet-room.
Great Oaks is designed over three floors. Each floor is its own community, so residents feel part of a smaller family unit where it is easy to make friends and socialise. Every floor has a cosy lounge and a bright and spacious dining area for residents to enjoy. Families can catch up over a cup of tea in the kitchen area, or in the private dining rooms as they choose.
We encourage everyone to bring their favourite furniture, photos and pictures to personalise their own bedroom so that they feel settled and comfortable.
The landscaped garden offers a beautiful and peaceful place to relax. The raised flower beds and vegetable patch are ideal for any green-fingered residents who would like to help to tend to the home’s produce.
